Iterative Photography
Photographic process marrying digital and analog processes in image creation. This gallery of images is more about the essence of photography as opposed to the image subject matter specifically. It evolved out of work that started with the "Evolution" series in which old images were intersected with objects of varying transparencies (filters) and a new digital image was taken.
I call this iterative photography because these layered images are not "collage". Each iteration is a distinct photo. Collage in photography is a process that means either cut up and re-assembled prints, or (in a digital realm) with layering of the digital images; meaning you either have a digitally altered image or a paper sculpture of types. Theses images are successive distinct photos. The difference is subtle, but is akin to a reduction print in that there is no going back to the primary image. In fact, the primary image in each successive iteration isn't the same image - given lighting (both ambient and projected), digital capture and rendering limitations (undersampling), scaling (taking pic close-up or far away), and other factors present with each successive photo taken.
